Getting Your Electricity from Monterey Bay Community Power – August 5, 2016 Salinas Taxpayers Association Event

Live or Work in Salinas? Government May Soon Provide Your Electricity!

Learn About Your Potential New Power Provider at a Salinas Taxpayers Association Morning Meeting on August 5, 2016

Monterey Bay Community Power LogoFew people in Salinas know that local elected officials in Santa Cruz County are forming a tri-county regional government called Monterey Bay Community Power.

If the Salinas City Council chooses to join, you’ll get your electricity from a regional government unless you choose to keep Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E).

Organizations such as the Sierra Club and the Monterey Bay Central Labor Council are already lobbying for their vision of how this agency shall operate.

  1. What does Monterey Bay Community Power mean for your electric bills?
  2. Where and how will your electricity be generated?
  3. Will Santa Cruz politicians decide how you get your electricity in Salinas?
